Introduction
BlinkRT is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data. We believe that your personal information belongs to you, and our responsibility is to keep it safe, transparent, and under your control at all times.
By using BlinkRT, you entrust us with minimal data, and we take that trust seriously. This privacy policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to protect it.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal data: account information (email, name) for authentication purposes only. When you create a BlinkRT account, we store your email address and display name to allow you to log in and manage your subscription.
We do not collect:
- SSH keys, passwords, or server credentials
- Terminal command history
- File transfer logs or SFTP activity
- IP addresses or geolocation data
- Behavioral analytics or usage telemetry
How We Use Information
We use your information solely for authentication and account management. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or any other purpose.
Specifically, we use your email address to:
- Authenticate your login sessions
- Send critical service notifications (security alerts, policy updates)
- Provide customer support when you contact us
Data Storage
All server credentials, SSH keys, and connection data are stored locally on your device. We never upload this data to our servers. This local-first architecture is the cornerstone of BlinkRT's security model.
Your connection profiles, saved snippets, terminal preferences, and SSH keys live exclusively in your device's encrypted local storage. Even if our servers were compromised, an attacker would find no server credentials to steal.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. These cookies allow you to stay logged in across sessions and maintain your preferences.
We do not use:
- Tracking cookies
- Third-party advertising cookies
- Analytics cookies
- Social media cookies
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including bcrypt password hashing and encrypted local storage. All account passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor designed to resist brute-force attacks.
Additional security measures include:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Rate limiting on authentication endpoints
- Regular security audits of our infrastructure
- Prompt patching of known vulnerabilities
Your Rights
You have the right to access, modify, or delete your account data at any time. You can update your profile information from the account settings page within the BlinkRT application.
If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, you can do so from the settings panel. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Because server credentials are stored locally, deleting your account only removes your authentication profile from our systems.
Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your email, name, and any server-side account metadata are permanently removed from our databases within 30 days.
Local data on your device is entirely under your control and is not affected by server-side deletion. You must manually clear the application data from your device if you wish to remove local credentials and settings.
Changes
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of BlinkRT after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
The last updated date of this policy is displayed at the top of this page for your reference.
