About BlinkRT

Building the future of server management with privacy-first, local-first tools designed for developers and enterprise teams.

Our Story

BlinkRT was founded to solve a critical problem in the developer tooling space: the lack of a truly privacy-focused, local-first SSH client. We watched as existing solutions forced users into cloud synchronization, storing sensitive server credentials and connection histories on third-party servers without transparent consent.

Our founders, a team of DevOps engineers and systems administrators, experienced this pain daily. Managing hundreds of servers across client environments meant trusting proprietary cloud systems with root access credentials — an unacceptable risk for security-conscious teams.

In 2023, we set out to build the SSH terminal we wished we had: blazing fast, completely local, with biometric authentication, modern SFTP management, and absolutely zero cloud dependency. BlinkRT is the result of that mission — a terminal built by engineers, for engineers.

Mission

Empower every developer with secure, local-first server management tools that respect privacy, eliminate vendor lock-in, and put complete control back into the hands of the people who actually run the infrastructure.

Vision

Become the standard SSH terminal for enterprise teams worldwide by proving that world-class performance, biometric security, and seamless user experience can coexist with absolute data sovereignty and zero-compromise privacy.

Core Values

The principles that guide every line of code we write.

Security First

Every feature is designed with security as the primary constraint, not an afterthought. Biometric locks, encrypted local storage, and zero-trust architecture.

Privacy Always

Your server credentials never leave your device. No cloud sync, no telemetry, no data mining. What is yours stays yours, period.

Performance Matters

Native-speed terminal emulation, instant connections, and buttery-smooth SFTP transfers. Lag has no place in critical infrastructure tools.

Developer Experience

Intuitive interfaces, sensible defaults, and powerful customization. Tools should adapt to your workflow, not force you into theirs.

Our Journey

From a simple idea to an enterprise-ready platform.

2023

Idea Born

Identified the need for a privacy-focused SSH client after experiencing repeated security audits flagging cloud-sync terminal tools as compliance risks in enterprise environments.

2024

Development Started

Building the MVP with local-first architecture. We chose Flutter for multi-platform reach and Drift for a powerful embedded database, ensuring zero external dependencies for user data.

2025

Beta Launch

First 1000 users managing servers securely. Feedback from early DevOps adopters shaped our SFTP file manager, biometric authentication, and connection grouping features.

2026

Enterprise Ready

Full enterprise features and multi-platform support. Role-based access controls, audit logging, team vaults, and dedicated onboarding for Fortune 500 infrastructure teams.

Why We Built BlinkRT

Existing SSH clients have become increasingly cloud-dependent, forcing developers to synchronize sensitive connection data to external servers just to access their own infrastructure. This architecture creates unnecessary attack surfaces, violates data sovereignty principles, and introduces compliance headaches for regulated industries.

Worse, many popular terminals collect detailed telemetry, connection metadata, and even keystroke patterns under vague privacy policies. For teams managing financial systems, healthcare infrastructure, or government servers, this is simply not acceptable.

BlinkRT was built as the antidote. Every connection credential is stored locally in an encrypted Drift database. Authentication is handled by your device's native biometric systems. There are no remote servers to breach, no sync conflicts to resolve, and no vendor holding your data hostage. Just you, your keys, and your servers.

Our Security Commitment

Security is not a feature we bolt on — it is the foundation of everything we build. BlinkRT uses AES-256 encryption for all locally stored credentials, protected by your device's hardware-backed biometric authentication. No cloud sync means there is no centralized database of keys to steal. No telemetry means there is no behavioral data to leak. We do not track, we do not profile, and we never will.
